Choosing a color online is a journey. At LoomLuna, we want that journey to end with you falling in love with your curtains the moment they arrive. Here is what you need to know about the science of textile color.

1. The Mystery of "Dye Lots"

Fabric is dyed in large batches (vats). Like a fine wine, every batch is slightly unique. Factors like water temperature, humidity, and even the natural fiber's absorption can create a 3%-5% shade difference between one production run and the next.

2. The "Chameleon" Effect (Lighting)

  • Morning Light: Enhances warm, golden undertones.

  • Evening/LED Light: Can make neutrals look cooler or more grey.

  • The Takeaway: The same fabric will transform throughout the day. This isn't a defect—it's the magic of natural textiles.

3. Screen vs. Reality

Your iPhone, MacBook, and Dell monitor all display colors differently. A "Sage Green" on your screen might look more like "Olive" in your hand. Digital previews are a guide, but your eyes are the judge.

How to Order with Confidence

Step 1: Order Swatches First We highly recommend ordering our physical fabric swatches. It is the only way to see the true texture and color in your home’s unique light. 

Step 2: The "3-Time Test" When your swatches arrive, tape them to your wall. Check them in the Morning, Noon, and Night. See how the color lives in your space before committing.

Step 3: Large Projects? Order Together. If you are decorating a large room with multiple windows, please order all panels at once. This guarantees we can source everything from the exact same dye lot for a seamless look.
